The Asia Academy of Management (AAOM), the longest-running academic association of management focused on Asia, is organising the second Special Conference, with an important and timely theme of “Policy, Purpose, and Organisational Innovation in Asia.”

Governments are rethinking policy’s role in business development, organisations face pressure to create value beyond profit, and technological change is reshaping industries. Asia’s diverse institutional environments offer some of today’s most instructive lessons in organisational innovation. These dynamics raise critical questions: How do organisations lead with purpose under uncertainty?  How are innovations shaped by policy and institutional context? How do managers create value as the rules keep changing?

Hosted by Curtin University Colombo, the conference invites scholars, students, and practitioners from Asia and beyond to explore these questions and share research. Possible contributing fields include:

• Entrepreneurship and innovation
• Human resource management
• International business and management
• Leadership and organisational behaviour
• Operations and supply chain management
• Strategic management

• Papers: Please follow the APJM/AMJ style guide (maximum: 40 pages, all-inclusive). Use the subject line: “PAPER: (first author last name)/(first few words of title).” On page 1, include all author details and abstract.
• Abstracts: Please limit the length to 1-2 pages (all inclusive). Use the subject line: “ABSTRACT: (first author last name)/(first few words of title).”
• Panels: Please have a minimum of three panelists. Each session is one hour. Please design the panel accordingly. Use the subject line: “PANEL: (first panelist last name)/(first few words of title).” By submission, all panelists have agreed to participate if the panel is accepted.
• Doctoral student consortium: Please submit CV and expression of interest in an email by March 1, 2027. Use the subject line: “DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM/PhD Track: (last name)” OR “DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM/DBA Track: (last name).”
